Valery Falkov, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education, and Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, participated in ceremonial opening of the second stage of the Academic Research Ground for oil and gas field equipment at Gubkin National University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) today. The Ground was constructed with the support by LUKOIL.
Constructing the Ground commemorates the 90th anniversary of the university. The facility will hold academic activities for students and trainees from the advanced training faculty as part of educational programs concerning field construction, oil and gas field-based treatment, storage, and transportation.
The first stage of the Academic Research Ground was reconstructed by LUKOIL in 2017. Equipment and technologies for oil production and well workover are now located at the Ground. As part of constructing the second stage, a 54 m2 high-contrast LED-screen was installed, training and accommodation rooms were built and arranged, and display tables were assembled to study equipment and components.
During their visit, Valery Falkov and Vagit Alekperov inspected other educational facilities including the Field Development Control Center built with the support by LUKOIL as well. This facility imitates intelligent field control and is designed to hold joint multidisciplinary classes for training oil and gas industry professionals.
