Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, a subsidiary of Rosneft, has produced the 15 millionth ton of oil since the start of commercial production of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field in 2013. Along the way with oil, the company produced almost 5.5 billion m3 of gas.
Over 20 years of development, production at the Srednebotuobinskoye field has grown to 4 million tons of oil per year. The growth in production was made possible by the use of advanced technologies that more than doubled the production rate of wells.
At the beginning of 2020, a record multilateral well was drilled and put into operation at the enterprise. It has an innovative design that consists of 15 side barrels, each of which is divided into two more. In contrast to the multilateral wells drilled using the Fishbone technology, the design of the new well is much more complicated. Specialists of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha called it “birch leaf”. The well is the longest in terms of reservoir penetration in Russia: its total length of the well was 12,792 m, and the reservoir penetration was 10,310 meters.
In addition, the increase in production was due to the commissioning of new production facilities – a central gathering point, an oil pipeline and an expansion of the delivery and acceptance point.
The immediate plans of the enterprise are to complete the construction of a gas processing plant and a system for injecting associated gas into the reservoir, which will increase the production rate of wells. After the completion of the construction of all production facilities, production at the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field is planned to be increased to 5 million tons per year.
